S-Tec Corporation dba Genesys Aerosystems is Hiring a Technical Writer Near Mineral, TX

 
 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for use with company products to include installation manuals, service bulletins, service information letters, and other technical documents as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to, as other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Write and edit technical documents for various company publications, which may include product documentation for use in design, development, verification, product certification, and installation. When appropriate, convert technical language into easily understood terms.
  • Implement applicable configuration management requirements. Coordinate scheduling with program managers, engineering, and support departments.
  • Work with engineers, field service engineers and other technical personnel to collect, interpret, and clarify content of technical documents in conformance with publication standards, industry specifications, and organizational processes.
  • Manage the review and approval process for documentation to ensure that project schedules are completed on time.
  • Proficient with a personal computer and the ability to type. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Word. Proficient with version control tools and configuration management tools. Strong aptitude for acquiring competency in new tools is essential.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in a writing-related or aviation/engineering field with two (2) or more years of experience with documentation, publications, or content management in a high-tech avionics’ environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous aviation experience and installation knowledge is a must.
